Global Communication Strategy Supports Launch of a New Technology Platform
An internationally recognized manufacturer and retailer of athletic shoes and apparel needed a comprehensive communication strategy and tools to support the global launch of a new technology platform.
The launch would impact more than 6,000 managers across the globe by changing the way they handled human resources tasks for their teams. The managers needed to understand the business rationale for the change and the tactical details of new processes and procedures that would affect their accountabilities.
Kennedy Communications conducted a thorough discovery process by interviewing stakeholders throughout the organization to get a clear vision of the magnitude of change along with an understanding of the new technology. Using change communication methodology that moves audiences through stages of a transition, we created a structure and cadence for communication that would cascade throughout the organization. Visual elements were designed to provide instant recognition for all messages related to the initiative, whether through print or web-based communication. To communicate the vision and context for the change, we designed, scripted and programmed an interactive learning map that used visual metaphors to depict the present state along with key points of the transition and an aspirational vision of the future.
The learning map was the primary focus of an intranet site that our team designed and programmed that allowed the company to share key messages to specific audiences throughout the process. Additionally, our team participated in regular task force meetings to provide direction and guidance as well as writing key pieces of communication that would be distributed throughout the organization.
